LRW #130--At least 3 Flowers

Here with my weekly post for the Lil' Red Wagon challenge!!
So Deanna has challenged us this week to use at least 3 flowers
I took the "at least" part to heart and tried to incorporate many flowers into my background
(although 3 remain the focus of my centre panel)
Now I know you MUST hoard  have some flowers in your wagon (be it from patterned paper, stamps, embellishments, etc).  So join us gals this week by creating something with at least 3 flowers.  Check out what the rest of the LRW girlfriends have created for some inspiration, and the link up your project at the main blog!

LRW #129--Pockets

Rosanne is hosting this week's Lil' Red Wagon challenge -- Pockets!
I had never really tried a pocket on my cards (or layouts) before (at least, I can't remember if I have).
Any way, I went rather literally with a pocket by creating a back pocket-type shape and double stitched the edges along my embossed card base.

Since I chose this masculine colour scheme (papers from Authentique's Loyal collection),
I decided to make this a Father's Day card.
If I had a pencil or pen stamp, I would've loved to fussy-cut it and place it in the pocket too :)

Hope you can join us gals by putting a pocket on your project and then link it up to our LRW site by next week!  Be sure to check out the pockets the rest of the design team came up with if you're looking for some inspiration!!

CFC 48

Happy Friday!!  So glad that it's the weekend!!  Tomorrow is Scrapfest in Kitchener, so I'll get to spend the day strolling through the marketplace in a papercrafter's happy place!!

I haven't played with the Casual Friday gals in a while, but here's their great new challenge

I chose blue and orange as my opposite colours on the colour wheel.

Enjoy your Friday evening!  Now it's time for my family's weekly pizza and movie night!!  The boys love it, and so do I!!

LRW #128 - Spring Colours

After an awesome Easter long weekend, Wednesday came fast!!  That means it's time for another Little Red Wagon challenge!!!  This week Regs challenged us to dig out SPRING COLOURS to use on our project (pinks, blues, greens, etc).

I decided to make a window card (don't make these very often), and I'm happy with the results!   Here are a couple of shots since it's a bit tricky to photograph the full effect of a window card in one shot.

Be sure to check out the Little Red Wagon blog to link up your Spring Coloured project and check out with the other DT came up with!!

LRW Challenge #127 - Umbrella

I had a great time hosting last week's Lil' Red Wagon challenge on clouds--so many great projects entered!
If you didn't get a chance to play, you'll likely be able to squeeze in a cloud or two into this week's challenge too . . .
This week, Judy has challenged us with:
April Showers Bring May Flowers--Use an umbrella on your project

I have this cute umbrella rubber stamp I haven't used much, and thought this was the perfect time to dig it out.
I kept it fairly simple.
I'm thinking it could be used for either a baby or bridal shower.
I paper pieced the blue umbrella and popped it up with thin dimensional adhesive; I coloured in the others with some Copics.  I also experimented with some Spray inks (my masking wasn't perfectly straight--oops)--really hard to photograph the shimmer it provides.

Hope you can play along with us!  Check out the blog here for all the details and see with the rest of the DT came up with!

Thanks 4 your time!

Easter Wishes

No this is not an April Fool's Day joke!  I'm sending you my Easter Wishes because I'll likely not have a chance to do so next weekend.

I had the chance to go into one of the Parenting classes at my school and do a little card-making workshop with them.  Papercrafting is a great activity for kids, and teenagers get so quiet when they get a chance to colour (seriously--it's bizarre).

Any way, I made this card and little basket.  The students loved making them, and even embellished their's with some pearls (teens love the bling!).
I coloured my eggs with Copics; however, I didn't bring my markers to school.  The students just used some good-ol' pencil crayons.   I forgot to take my camera to school to get some shots of them creating (I likely wouldn't have been able to post any--privacy issues, of course).

Here's a close-up.  I popped up one of the eggs for some dimension.

Be sure to pop by here on Wednesday for my Little Red Wagon post.  If you haven't had the chance to play along with my Clouds challenge this week, run on over there and check out the details!

Thanks 4 your time!
