LRW #204 -- Vintage

Jayne's asking us to kick it ol' school this week over at Little Red Wagon

She wants to see some projects with a vintage feel.

I don't really do the classic vintage--you know, that shabby chic style vintage.  I've tried it, and it's just not me.  So instead, I went with the a worn-out, distressed vintage look.  The button is probably vintage--so that counts, right?.
I made this for my nephew's 14th birthday (hence the stamped "14").
I heat embossed the woodgrain background with clear embossing powder, then distressed all the rest, what's that called again? Emboss resist technique?  I can never remember the technical terms for anything!

Any way, head on over to the LRW blog and check out what the rest of the DT cooked up before linking up your own VINTAGE project.

Thanks 4 your time!

LRW #203--Colour Challenge

Roseanne has a colour challenge for us this week at LRW

KRAFT, BLACK & CREAM (or White)

I chose to go with a layout this time; and really challenged myself with the photo I selected.  I normally would have gone with a blue palette for a beach photo, but I love how this turned out.
Hard to tell in the pic, but these oval are white shell pieces from a necklace that broke--you know I'm all about re-purposing!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT did with this colour combo.
Then, link up your project to LRW!

Thanks 4 your time!

LRW #202 -- Polaroid Frame

Okay, so it looks as though I totally forgot to post on my own blog last week when I was hosting the challenge over at LRW (you can check it here; but the challenge is now over). Oops!

This week Regan has challenged us to use a polaroid frame.

I got this free digi polaroid image over at Whimsie Doodles.  I don't colour a lot, but experimented this weekend on some of the free digi stamps they have.  It was a bit tricky to colour around those snowflakes and get a perfect background. I definitely want to take some classes.

Yikes--I can really see my boo-boos in this close-up!

Check out what the rest of the DT gals created, then link up your project here
