LRW#178-Think Spring Colour Challenge

[Yikes!  I thought I had this post scheduled for today, and then just noticed I had clicked on tomorrow's date--oops!  Sorry--another busy week for me!]

Any way, Joanne has given us a yummy colour palette to play with this week at Little Red Wagon

I will admit, I got really stumped.
Colouring my large hydrangea was the easy part, but then I had the hardest time deciding how to incorporate some of the other colours.  I don't think I've ever swapped out so many different card bases, mounting, embellishments in my creative career until I finally settled on this.  I had to walk away 100 a couple of times!!

The perseverance paid off though--I'm quite happy with the final project
(ahem--despite the minor glaring error--can you spot it?).

So, I challenge you to take the "challenge" -- you'll be glad you did!
Think Spring with this yummy inspiration photo;
then link up your project to the LRW blog here,
but only after you've stopped by the rest of the DT's blogs, of course, to see what they've created.

Thanks 4 your time!

LRW #177-Easter

Jayne is hosting her first challenge today over at Little Red Wagon (WooHoo Jayne!!)

She's going easy on us; the theme is EASTER

Luckily, I just made this card Monday to share with a Parenting class yesterday.
My co-worker asked me to come in and lead her 12 female students in creating an Easter Card
(I do work at a Catholic school)

I made this card as a model, and taught the girls each step.
They had a great time!  I brought a couple of my scrapbooks in to show them how I record my memories of and for my children.

Hope you can join us this week!  Check out what the rest of the DT created, and then link up your EASTER project here.

LRW # 176 -- Window

Sorry I'm late posting this week's Little Red Wagon Challenge.  Just got back from a few days with the fam-jam in upstate New York.  I thought I'd have time to schedule this post on Monday morning before we left, but my DH hadn't changed the time on his alarm clock in our room the day before; when I peeked at his clock that morning, I thought "Hey, I can sleep for a while longer!"  NOT!  Needless to say, the post did not get scheduled :(  Good news, I did get to do some scrappy shopping, so I can't wait to play with some of it!!
On to the challenge . . . Roseanne has asked us to use a WINDOW
(a diecut or image) on our project.

Other important news from LRW--we have to say bye to Dee (one of my first scrappy friends),
and we welcome Carolyn back to the DT and Jayne!!
They're both fabulous designers who will bring lots of great inspiration for all of our challenges!

Onto my "window" card!  I was actually scrapping with Dee the day that I made this card.
It was late in the evening, I was getting tired, and my card making mojo was fading.
So I harnessed my "inner" Dee and came up with this very CAS card that reminds me of Dee's signature CAS style.
I didn't have a "window" die, but I DID have my new PTI Framed Out #12 die.  I added some flowers that I coloured and fussy cut from PTI's Year of Flowers stamp set--makes it look like I have a small window box.

Hope you have some time to play along with us this week!
Be sure to check out with the rest of the DT designed and welcome our new designers--they will not disappoint!

Thanks 4 your time!

LRW -- Shaped Card

It's Wednesday--which means it's only a few days before March Break (yaaayyyyyy!!!!--yes, teachers are just as excited about it as the students) . . . it also means it's time for another Little Red Wagon Challenge!

Regan has asked us to create a SHAPED CARD

I was lucky enough to borrow a fellow crafters PTI die at a crop 2 weekends ago that made this card a cinch; however, there are lots of other ways to create a shaped card
(Silhouette, Cricut, hand-cut, Nestabilities, etc).
Please ignore my poor stitching skills--LOL
I got the idea for the onesie's ruffles from a card in the Cricut Babies book
by Marlene Gomez

Hope you can join us this week!
Check out what the rest of the DT has created,
and then link up your card to our challenge blog here.

Baby Chipboard Album

Last weekend, I had the chance to crop all day with some great scrapbooking buddies.  Thanks again Dee for organizing it! It was great to have the chance to create ALL day; it gave me the time to finish a project I wanted to make for my baby cousin who is expecting her first child in April!

I don't think she visits my blog, so I figured I can share it here before she receives it at her shower in a couple of weeks.  Her baby's room colour scheme is purple, grey and espresso brown, so it made it easy for me to select my papers (a collection of some new and old papers I dug out--even lots of scraps).

Here it is:

And here are some detail shots of some of the embellishments:

CFC92

It's been a while since I've played along with the Casual Friday Challenge, but their current challenge made it easier for me to play along, since it is something I so often do.

We've been asked to stamp a background for our CAS project; I created 2 cards:
The small polka dots on the patterned paper I used inspired me to stamp the whole card base with the larger dots.  Don't you just love the font combo for that stamp!

Excuse the photo (took at it night in my craft area--not the usual bright spot on our living room floor)
I decided to embellish with the butterfly (not that you ever have to twist my arm on using a butterfly) to complement the four-petal flower stamp I repeatedly stamped on the kraft panel and the card base.

(an yup--I used another kleenex box tab--I really can't stop--it's an addiction!!!)

Any way, stay tuned for another post today--yeah, can you believe it?!?!
I finished a chipboard baby album for my cousin's baby shower in a couple of weeks--just need to edit the photos!
