Little Red Wagon Challenge #16

heww--I've been away from blogging for almost a week!!  I'm suffering from a viral ear infection--which has kept me dizzy for over 10 days.  I feel very tired and like I'm car sick all the time.  From what I've been reading--these symptoms can last several weeks!!  I can't even take anything for it as I'm still breastfeeding my little guy (who refuses to take a bottle or sippy cup!).  Needless to say, I haven't done much in terms of paper-crafting this week . . . apart from these set of Bridal shower invites that I thought fit for Little Red Wagon's Challenge #16--which was to use RIBBON!

I had to tie 15 ribbon bows to make these 15 invites for my cousin's upcoming shower (not all pictured here)

Her sister (who is throwing the shower) had these really simple Damask patterned notecards she picked up in the Michaels' $1.50 bin--Damask is the theme of the wedding.  The notecards were rather plain, so I told her I could fancy them up.  I simply cut off the front of the notecard and mounted it onto a blank white card; added the printed sentiment (done in Word), pink scalloped edge, a black strip, some stitching and finished it off with the bow.

The bow serves an additional purpose of holding a recipe card inside (which I also created in Word).  The shower has a cooking theme to it (guest Chef will be giving us a cooking lesson--fun!!)

Any way--I really honed my bow tying skills--all thanks to Dawn McVey's fabulous tutorial.  I wasted all but 1" of ribbon, I think.

Thanks 4 your time!
