Think GREEN! [EBTKS Box Challenge]

One of the things I love about the EBTKS Around the House challenges is that it appeals to the tree-hugger in me!!  I'm a devoted recycler (3 blue boxes, 1 organic waste bin and a backyard composter at our house), and I'm always looking for ways to reuse things for my crafting.

The current EBTKS challenge asks us to use a box top or the cardboard from a box.  I have to confess that the idea didn't get my crafting mojo going at first.  In fact, I thought I was going to skip this challenge.  However, I became suddenly inspired when I was tossing this kleenex box into my recycling bin this morning:

Once I got started, I couldn't stop, and I made 3 ITEMS!!
My card uses both the green patterened front of the box for the background and part of the flower, and all the kraft elements on the card are the inside of the box.  I even resurrected an old EBTKS challenge and used kleenex (given it was a kleenex box) for the ruffles.  The ribbon was repurposed.  So other than the card base, button and thread--everything was recycled!!  How appropriate that the box was GREEN too!!

I also made a small 2.5"x2.5" gift card tag . . .

. . . and a bookmark . . .

Not much for other supplies here:  Thank-you sentiment (Inkadinkado); For You and alphabet stamps (Studio G); SU! Chocolate Chip ink; Cricut Storybook cartridge to cut Hibiscus flower

Thanks 4 your time!

  3. That is pretty amazing to get three projects out of one box! The design on the box is so pretty and I like how you've incorporated it as your patterned paper.

  8. I am a recycler too! I can't throw things into the trash even at restaurants. If I can... without making a huge mess... I will take it home to recycle it! All of your projects are great! Thanks so much for playing along with our challenge! :)
