LRW #135--Wood-you?

Happy Wednesday!! It's time for a new Little Red Wagon challenge!!

This week, Regan has challenged us to use WOOD GRAIN on our projects.
I love this image/texture!!  You can use patterned paper, embossing folders, stamps, etc . . .

I settled for a woodgrain stamp that I've neglected lately (wPlus9 stamps),
and made this fairly CAS card.

I finally got to use some of my MME paper pad that I bought over a month ago but hadn't cracked open!

So . . . wood you dig out some wood grain out of your wagon and play along with us?!
Check out the LRW blog here for all the details and to check out what the rest of the DT created!

Edited:  Had to add this to the CAS-ual Friday challenge--Masculine card with designer paper.

Thanks 4 your time!

Happy Wedding Day!

It was my baby cousin's wedding yesterday, and what a gorgeous day it was!!

I rushed to make a card before we left. I know, that's horrible--I really don't know where the time goes lately; didn't even have time to set it up for a good photo.  I took the shot in the car on the way there-lol!  Like my manicure?! :P
I used her wedding colour scheme, and got to play with my new PTI Damask stamps (I bought a used set)!

Here's a shot of my DH and me, and another of the happy couple!

EDITED:  Just added this card to the Damask & Brocade Challenge over at Moxie Fab World!!!

LRW #134--Oh Daddy-O!

With holiday Monday, this week's LRW challenge sure did sneak up on me quickly!!

This week Judy has challenged us to make a Father's Day card!
(So glad to have got on this occasion early enough since I didn't get my Mother's Day cards done--the ones I did make, I sold; so my poor mom and MIL didn't get one.  Pretty pathetic, eh?)

Without further ado, here's what I came up with.
Here's another (I made it last year, but never got around to posting it--more inspiration can't hurt)

Any way, hope you have the chance to play along this week and make a Father's Day Card

Thanks 4 your time!

LRW #132--Mist-ify Us

Here for another Little Red Wagon Challenge today!

Jan has asked that we use Mist on our projects.
I haven't worked with mists a lot, but for this card, I inked up my rubber butterfly stamp with a light blue, and then misted the edges in pink.  I've always loved butterflies (I know Jan doesn't--sorry Jan)

So dig out your mists our of your wagon, and Mist-ify us with your project!
Be sure to check out what the rest of the LRW gals created over at the main blog (or click on their links in my sidebar)

Happy hump day!

LRW #131--Stitching

Thank you Joanne for giving us a challenge I LOVE this week over at Little Red Wagon

Stitching  -- by hand or machine

I think I machine stitch on all my cards and layouts lately, so even though this may not have been a "challenge" for me in the true sense of the word, I still loved it because it allowed me to play with one of my favourite techniques.

I made this baby card for one of my dear girlfriends who just had her first baby.
I love the texture of the embossing folder and the onesie, and the zig-zag stitching around the panel just gives it a Quilt sorta-feel.

I also thought I'd share this one that I made for another dear girlfriend who now lives out in B.C.  I tucked this card in to the baby gift I sent out for her new baby boy.
My son hates clothing tags on his shirts, so I re-purposed this one that says "made with TLC" and stitched it onto the tag on my card.

Hope you have some time to play with us LRW gals this week!
We'd love to see what you "stitch" up!!

LRW #130--At least 3 Flowers

Here with my weekly post for the Lil' Red Wagon challenge!!
So Deanna has challenged us this week to use at least 3 flowers
I took the "at least" part to heart and tried to incorporate many flowers into my background
(although 3 remain the focus of my centre panel)
Now I know you MUST hoard  have some flowers in your wagon (be it from patterned paper, stamps, embellishments, etc).  So join us gals this week by creating something with at least 3 flowers.  Check out what the rest of the LRW girlfriends have created for some inspiration, and the link up your project at the main blog!

LRW #129--Pockets

Rosanne is hosting this week's Lil' Red Wagon challenge -- Pockets!
I had never really tried a pocket on my cards (or layouts) before (at least, I can't remember if I have).
Any way, I went rather literally with a pocket by creating a back pocket-type shape and double stitched the edges along my embossed card base.

Since I chose this masculine colour scheme (papers from Authentique's Loyal collection),
I decided to make this a Father's Day card.
If I had a pencil or pen stamp, I would've loved to fussy-cut it and place it in the pocket too :)

Hope you can join us gals by putting a pocket on your project and then link it up to our LRW site by next week!  Be sure to check out the pockets the rest of the design team came up with if you're looking for some inspiration!!

CFC 48

Happy Friday!!  So glad that it's the weekend!!  Tomorrow is Scrapfest in Kitchener, so I'll get to spend the day strolling through the marketplace in a papercrafter's happy place!!

I haven't played with the Casual Friday gals in a while, but here's their great new challenge

I chose blue and orange as my opposite colours on the colour wheel.

Enjoy your Friday evening!  Now it's time for my family's weekly pizza and movie night!!  The boys love it, and so do I!!
Thanks 4 your time!

LRW #128 - Spring Colours

After an awesome Easter long weekend, Wednesday came fast!!  That means it's time for another Little Red Wagon challenge!!!  This week Regs challenged us to dig out SPRING COLOURS to use on our project (pinks, blues, greens, etc).

I decided to make a window card (don't make these very often), and I'm happy with the results!   Here are a couple of shots since it's a bit tricky to photograph the full effect of a window card in one shot.

Be sure to check out the Little Red Wagon blog to link up your Spring Coloured project and check out with the other DT came up with!!
