EBTKS - Wrapping Paper Challenge

Wow--it's been way too long!!  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration.  The Christmas holidays were a lot of fun for us, but very busy = I had little to no time to papercraft, let alone blog.  My 3 year old had a sleepover tonight at my parents', so I finally got some time to sit at my craft table!!

The current EBTKS Around the House challenge is to use wrapping paper in our card creation.

I've actually made 2 cards for this challenge.  I used stitching on both too--I got a sewing machine from my hubby for Christmas (it's what I asked for), and I've been practicing with it!!

My first card is a birthday card:

I stitched some old wrapping paper I found to the bottom half of card.  Stamped sentiment and ribbon are both from Michaels' bin.  Black paper is punched with EK Success border punch.

The second card is a Valentine's card I made using kraft parcel paper (had some left from Christmas parcels I mailed):

I stamped the kraft paper repeatedly with a border stamp from Stampology using Colorbox Dragonfly Black.  Then I put the paper through my Cricut and cut out two hearts with the George cartridge.  I mounted the hearts on some scrap creamy coloured paper and adhered them to the card (Recollections cardstock)--adhered the right one with foam dimensionals.  Oops, I did stitch the kraft strip on first.  The "I Love You" strip is from some patterned paper--but can't remember the company.  Ribbon is from Michaels.

Thanks 4 your time!!

  1. Your birthday card is a lot of fun and the Valentine's card is so elegant. Its good to know another card maker out there is going through Sewing 101 too, it's not as easy as those pro's make it look!
